The Redevelopment of
Northwest Port Charlotte. Consisting of 910
acres for the "Murdock
Village" a downtown concept.
PORT CHARLOTTE -- Six developers will compete
to turn 1,200 acres of mostly empty land into Port Charlotte's new
downtown.
The redevelopment project, called Murdock Village, would convert
decades-old General Development Corp. subdivisions that never panned
out into a busy urban center.
The plan calls for a commercial strip on U.S.
41 in the Murdock section of Port Charlotte and residential areas
clustered around parklands. The area is bordered by U.S. 41 and
State Road 776.
